Transformative Leadership Opportunity

The Transpennine Route Upgrade is a flagship programme that will revolutionize the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield. As a Civils Delivery Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of this multi-billion-pound project.

Reporting to the Civils IDT Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of experts in the delivery of major civils works, including lineside civils works. Your key tasks will include:

  • Collaborating with the Civils IDT Management Team and W3A SLT to ensure the quality of the works meets the VFM Statement.
  • Accountable for the safe delivery of the major civils scope to time and schedule.
  • Managing risks and opportunities relating to the civils scope.
  • Developing and implementing a procurement strategy, budget, and schedule for the civils scope.
  • Actively working to ensure the major civils scope is integrated with all other disciplines and functions to ensure successful delivery for all alliance partners.

You will be an ambassador for the Alliance Charter and a positive role model promoting the alliance vision and behaviours. Your leadership skills will be essential in developing team members, including yourself, to reach personal goals and ambitions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior leadership role, managing multiple large-scale projects or programmes of work.
  • Management of large civil engineering projects in excess of £100m.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior position on a large multi-disciplinary rail project.
  • Experience of producing accurate reports, presenting trend data, and presenting to senior leaders within the programme and parent company.

You will be a performance-driven individual with a strong commercial focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver leadership and behavioural change within a large organisation.
