About the Role

Goliath, a leading international manufacturer and distributor of toys and games, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our team. As a Marketing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Crayola brand and product range, launching new products to market, developing marketing plans, and executing these plans in the most cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Brand Development: Assist in the development of the brand marketing plan, developing an understanding of key marketing drivers to ensure brand growth and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Brand Management: Be the custodian of the brand and ensure that all elements of the brand strategy work together to maximize business results.
  • Market Research: Monitor and evaluate brand performance so to recommend and execute appropriate solutions to improve effectiveness and create post-activity reports.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive research on new products, existing products, and monitoring consumer reviews. Identify new opportunities through market and category gap analysis – become a true category expert.
  • Campaign Execution: Work closely with agencies to execute marketing campaigns, manage social media activities, and develop new creative outputs. Attend creative development/edits under guidance from the Crayola Marketing Controller.
  • Product Management: Develop and present product presentations to sales and customers. Manage and update brand documentation and product line plans.
  • Database Management: Manage stored product information on the company database, including images, codes, dimensions, with an overall responsibility to ensure that all information is correct and up-to-date and filed appropriately.
  • Licensor Management: Help gain Licensor approvals on product/pack/media development.
  • Pricing Management: Under the guidance of the Crayola Marketing Controller, use company margins and profitability model to learn to negotiate the best prices and upkeep pricing documentation.
  • Imagery and Copy Management: Catalogue and provide upon request imagery and copy management.
  • Website Management: Ensure the Crayola UK website is up to date, working efficiently, and providing analytic reports on its usage.
  • Online Retailer Management: Audit online retailers, including Amazon, to ensure copy and imagery is up to date and ensuring products are being displayed in the most effective way.
  • Trade Show Planning: Support all aspects of trade show planning and implementation working with the Crayola Marketing Controller.
  • Showroom Design: Involved in showroom design and upkeep, including image boards, sample ordering, and general changeover of products.
  • PR and Copywriting: Hands-on with PR briefing and management as well as copywriting trade press releases and catalogue text.
  • Store Checks: Performing store checks and helping to produce store check reports and imagery.
  • Prototype and Sample Management: Overseeing the production and collection of prototypes and samples for customers.
  • Social Media Management: Be a day-to-day contact for product queries and social media assistance working with the social media agency and customer services.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Help manage social media content calendar and tracking. Assist with ad hoc projects for brand teams.
Requirements
  • 1 to 2 years' experience gained from working in a marketing environment.
  • Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines in a fast-moving marketing department.
  • Strong communication and administration skills with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work across different projects and prioritize their workload.
  • Exhibition planning and coordination.
  • Team player, who is flexible and will hit the ground running.
