The Role: Learning & Development Manager (Part-Time)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning & Development Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our L&D strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to identify employee development needs and design impactful learning solutions that contribute to a high-performing workforce.
  • Develop and implement an L&D strategy aligned with the organization's overall objectives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry best practices, and evolving organizational requirements.
  • Work in partnership with HR to oversee performance evaluation systems and processes, ensuring that employee skills and capabilities meet current and future business needs.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning by coaching, mentoring, and providing development opportunities to employees at all levels.
  • Support HR colleagues in workforce planning initiatives and equip managers with the tools and knowledge to foster positive work environments.
  • Lead talent management, succession planning, and leadership development programs to cultivate a strong pipeline of future leaders.

Experience:

To excel in this role, you will possess a solid L&D background with proven experience in partnering with businesses at both strategic and operational levels. You will have a deep understanding of implementing training and development principles and practices in alignment with organizational development, talent acquisition, and retention plans.

A CIPD or relevant L&D qualification is essential, along with a comprehensive toolkit of expertise encompassing learning needs analysis, training plan design, manager development, and the evaluation of training impact. You will have a strong track record of coaching and mentoring, as well as delivering engaging online and in-person training across diverse business areas and stakeholders.

Previous L&D experience within a charitable organization would be highly advantageous, and familiarity with the farming industry would be particularly desirable.
