The Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Stock Operative. As a key member of our store team, you'll play a vital role in driving sales performance and ensuring the day-to-day running of our store is seamless.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the store team in achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Maximise sales opportunities and focus on KPI delivery to drive business growth.
  • Deliver market-leading customer service to drive customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Offer a VIP concierge service to customers, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings.
  • Sell the story, not the discount, by demonstrating and sharing your passion for our products with customers.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge, constantly learning about our products to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Take accountability and pride in the physical appearance and maintenance of your store, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in all operational tasks required for the day-to-day running of the store, including delivering wine to customers, merchandising, stock deliveries, and calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the operational running of the store and feed ideas back to your wider team to implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance, safety, and legality by following internal policies, processes, and completing mandatory training.
  • Be an example of Majestic's Ways of Working and a source of support for more junior team members, feeding back to your Store Manager as appropriate.
  • As a key holder, you'll understand the opening and closing compliance and be confident to operate the store without your management team.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every single customer.
  • Self-motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of our business.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial, but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
