Sustainable Materials Repair Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sustainable Materials Repair Specialist to join our team at Smiths Detection. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in developing procedures to repair and reuse service parts, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the feasibility and methods of repairing service parts for various products and categories.
  • Develop and document optimal repair techniques and criteria for different types of parts.
  • Communicate and disseminate repair processes and standards to local teams and suppliers.
  • Train and assist local teams and suppliers in conducting reworks and monitor their performance.
  • Collaborate with quality specialists to ensure quality and safety standards are met in reworks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electronics/electrical engineering or equivalent higher technical qualification.
  • First-hand technical experience with electronic components.
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of electronics.
  • Experience in a Service, engineering, or manufacturing role.
  • Electronics technical skills including diagnosis and repair.
  • Understanding of Smiths detection equipment and the function of components.
  • Ability to develop and document repeatable processes and procedures.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Engages and works effectively with others.
  • Initiative-taking and accountable individual with structured approach and results focus.
  • Experience in training others and documenting processes.
  • Level 3 service capability on Smiths equipment.
