About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sustainable Materials Repair Specialist to join our team at Smiths Detection Inc. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing procedures to repair and reuse service parts that would otherwise be discarded.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for documenting and sharing best practices and procedures for reworking parts with local teams and suppliers, and training and supporting them in performing reworks.

You will also follow and promote our safety and quality standards in your work and when working with others to ensure used parts are safe and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the feasibility and methods of repairing service parts for various products and categories.
  • Develop and document the optimal repair techniques and criteria for different types of parts.
  • Communicate and disseminate the repair process and standards to local teams and suppliers.
  • Train and assist local teams and suppliers in conducting reworks and monitor their performance.
  • Work with quality specialists to ensure quality and safety standards are met in reworks.
  • Collaborate with a global community of specialists and share best practices and feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in electronics / electrical engineering or equivalent higher technical qualification.
  • First-hand technical experience with electronic components.
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of electronics.
  • Experience in a Service, engineering, or manufacturing role.
Desirable Skills
  • Electronics Technical skills including diagnosis and repair.
  • Understanding of Smiths detection equipment and the function of components.
  • Ability to develop and document repeatable processes and procedures.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Engages and works effectively with others.
  • Initiative-taking and accountable individual with structured approach and results focus.
