Position Overview

In response to our growth, we are seeking to recruit three ATEX Inspectors for various regions across England. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct inspections in hazardous areas and oversee remedial actions at various sites within the water industry.

Key Responsibilities

This position is contracted for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hourly pay and overtime compensation. Travel time is compensated from door to door, and weekend overtime is paid at an enhanced rate.

  • Responsible for executing electrical installations in compliance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Guarantee that all installations meet the highest standards, aligning with the project's quality plan and inspection and test plans.
  • Actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and possess the authority to halt work if unsafe conditions arise.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to Electrical Improvers and Apprentices.
  • Exemplify and promote Bridges' values in interactions with peers, staff, customers, and clients.
  • Encourage positive health and wellbeing among colleagues.
  • Maintain professionalism and act as an ambassador for Bridges, supporting business objectives and upholding the company's esteemed reputation.

Qualifications

Essential Experience / Certifications:

  • ECS card / JIB Gold card.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (mandatory).
  • CompEx EX01-04 certification.
  • Experience in the water, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong client engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage personal and team workloads with minimal oversight from Project Managers to deliver safe and profitable projects.
  • CCNSG (or equivalent).
  • Fitness to work medical certification.
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider qualification.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • EUSR certification.
  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined space training.
  • Experience with ATEX inspections and DSEAR regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualification.
  • Severn Trent Water LV SAP qualification.
  • Experience in industrial and/or panel wiring.
  • Test and Inspection expertise.
