About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Families First Coordinator to join our Supporting Families Practice Team in Hertfordshire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering training, support, and guidance to professionals working with families across the county.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver training and coaching to professionals on the Early Help Module System (EHM) and other relevant topics.
  • Provide one-to-one coaching and support to professionals coordinating early help support.
  • Identify and signpost families to other early help services and be knowledgeable about referral pathways and processes.
  • Work closely with the Senior Families First Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of early help support.
  • Meet with families to identify their needs and assist their key worker in completing a Families First Assessment (FFA).
  • Develop SMART action plans to help meet the needs of families and attend Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.
  • Deliver group and one-to-one training to professionals both virtually and in person.
Requirements
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of Families First Assessments and Early Help support in Hertfordshire.
  • Experience of multi-agency working to deliver early help with the confidence to communicate across various levels.
  • Experience of interacting and working with families, children, and young people and finding out what really matters to them.
  • Outcome-focused with excellent attention to detail and experience in report writing.
  • Experience in effective stakeholder engagement across a variety of services and agencies.
  • Experience of managing professional conflict and difficult conversations using negotiation skills for effective partnership working.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and understand the importance of the roles others play in achieving a desired outcome.
  • Excellent digital literacy including proficiency in Microsoft.
  • Previous experience of delivering training would be beneficial but is not required.
  • Familiarity of taking minutes and chairing meetings would be an advantage.
