About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join our team at Protocol Education. As an Autism Support Specialist, you will provide assistance to students with autism in both individual and group settings, supporting them with their classwork and daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with autism, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Education Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Implement and manage effective behavior strategies to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behavior.
  • Support students with their daily routines, including meal times, breaks, and transitions.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of strategies to support students with autism.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Autism Support Specialist or Teaching Assistant is preferred but not required.
  • A positive, encouraging, and patient attitude.
  • Proficiency in behavior management techniques.
