Mental Health Support Team Lead

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the implementation and delivery of Mental Health Support Teams in schools, building on the existing teams in Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin. Your primary goal will be to ensure that the service is delivered to the highest quality, meeting the needs of children, young people, and families, as well as our colleagues in education.
Main DutiesThe Mental Health Support Teams will offer three core functions of service:
- Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild-to-moderate mental health problems
- Supporting senior mental health leads in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole-school approach
- Providing timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people get the right support and stay in education
The teams will also support the whole-school approach implementation of models of emotional wellbeing and mental health understanding and support. This will be achieved through completing audits, providing consultation, training, supervision, and other information sessions to schools and other agencies, and helping drive the strategic direction of emotional wellbeing and mental health provision in Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin schools.
