Job Summary

The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the implementation and delivery of the Mental Health Support Teams in schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for building on the existing teams in Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin, and will work closely with education settings to introduce or develop their whole school approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Main Duties

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild-to-moderate mental health problems
  • Supporting senior mental health leads in education settings to develop their whole school approach
  • Providing timely advice to school staff and liaising with external specialist services to help children and young people access the right support

The Mental Health Support Teams will provide a range of services, including brief goal-focused interventions, consultation, training, and supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the service is delivered to the highest quality, meeting the needs of children, young people, and families, and our colleagues in education.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a strong background in children's emotional wellbeing and mental health, and will have experience of working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties. They will also have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and will have strong leadership and management skills.
