We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Call Handler for the NHS 111 Wales Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring that they receive the right care, at the right time, and in the right place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering calls from the public, providing accurate and empathetic responses to their queries and concerns.
  • Working collaboratively with our team to ensure seamless communication and effective care delivery.
  • Utilizing critical thinking skills to make informed decisions and respond to complex situations.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, with a strong focus on communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in dealing with the public, preferably in a call centre or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Sound IT skills, with experience in using computer systems and software.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with a focus on customer service or healthcare.
  • Experience working in a call centre environment, with a strong understanding of telephony and customer service principles.
  • Health service experience, with a focus on patient care and communication.
