About the Deputy Manager Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Deputy Manager at Heathside Nursery, part of the MiChild Group.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in early years settings, with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Nursery Manager on a daily basis and provide support to the team.
  • Work as part of the nursery team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education to children.
  • Make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of a Manager.
  • Follow all administrative procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Be a positive role model to other staff and assist in the training of new team members.
  • Manage staffing levels and deploy staff as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
  • Attend meetings as part of the management team and contribute to the development of the nursery.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in childcare or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Previous experience as a Room Supervisor or Deputy Manager in a nursery setting.
