Senior/Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant
Risktec Solutions Ltd is a renowned, independent consultancy specializing in risk management. We are looking for dynamic and driven Nuclear Safety Consultants with at least 5 years of experience to join our expanding team. The successful candidates will contribute to significant projects within the nuclear sector both in the UK and globally.
Role Overview:

  • The possibility to collaborate with other Risktec sectors like oil and gas, clean energy, transport, defense, and conventional power, as well as supporting Risktec offices worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to the development of major safety cases through the creation, verification, and management of Safety Case documentation, which includes:
    • Hazard identification and assessments (HAZANs), both deterministic and quantitative.
    • Radiological and conventional safety evaluations.
    • Conducting specialized assessments to bolster the Safety Case.
    • Formulating Safety Case strategies and key arguments.
    • Mentoring junior assessors in safety case documentation and assessment tools.
  • Overseeing project delivery in a consultancy context from start to finish, which involves:
    • Managing contracts and drafting proposals for new projects.
    • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
    • Resource management to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A proven history of applying risk management principles and producing Safety Case documentation in the Nuclear sector.
  • A commitment to ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction through practical and proportionate solutions.
  • An aptitude for quickly understanding complex issues and applying knowledge to deliver effective solutions in the context of nuclear operations and various stages of the plant lifecycle.
  • The capability to manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • A collaborative team player, as well as capable of working independently when necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Robust analytical and logical reasoning skills.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must possess a suitable background to achieve UK security clearance.
