Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer to take charge of a Renewable Hydrogen initiative within our Major Projects division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all C&I and Telecoms engineering tasks, ensuring the effective allocation, supervision, and direction of project deliverables.
- Delegate supervision and specific verification activities to qualified personnel based on project scale.
- Formulate solutions and manage technically complex and high-profile challenges, collaborating with Consultant Engineers, Lead Engineers, or Project Engineering Managers, while maintaining clear communication with Clients and Senior Management.
- Supervise, review, and validate C&I and Telecoms operations, addressing discrepancies and deviations from the original proposal or contract by initiating technical inquiries with projects or clients.
- Engage in Factory Acceptance Tests as required.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary Engineering Design Reviews, providing essential C&I and Telecoms engineering insights to facilitate the resolution of outstanding actions.
- Plan and schedule C&I and Telecoms engineering activities and manpower resources effectively.
- Assess the total number of engineering deliverables, allocate man-hours, and determine the format of delivery and other execution requirements.
- Provide regular project control and reporting inputs to Project Management.
- Consult with Quality Assurance on any quality-related issues, ensuring adherence to the client's ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan, and Design Integrity processes.
- Coordinate internal and client audit requests, facilitating audit procedures for engineering systems within the department.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of general engineering experience, with at least 7 years in the Process & Energy sector, focusing on design office and field engineering.
Proficient computer skills and familiarity with databases, spreadsheets, and engineering design software.
Comprehensive understanding of British and common international standards, as well as regulatory authority requirements in the Process & Energy sector.
Desirable Experience:
- Construction and commissioning site experience.
- Strong commercial contractual awareness and risk management skills.
- Experience with other disciplines, including processing plant construction, commissioning, and operation.
