About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Porter to join our team at Spire Hartswood Hospital. As a Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital by providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transfer, transport, and guide patients safely around the hospital, providing a caring and professional service.
  • Collect and deliver clean and dirty linen, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Assist with mail sorting, franking mail as required, and provide general assistance in all stores and distributive activities.
  • Deliver flowers and newspapers, and arrange furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Undertake driving duties as required, ensuring a safe and efficient transportation service.
  • Ensure the maintenance of good working relationships, communications, and teamwork within the hospital and department.
  • Carry out any other duties that reasonably fall within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and staff in a clear and respectful manner.
  • A high standard of personal appearance, with a clean and professional demeanor.
  • A full and current UK driving license, with a clean driving record.
  • Experience of delivering frontline customer service and working in a similar environment.
  • A track record of successful customer care in the healthcare sector, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer care skills, with a focus on providing a high-quality service to patients and staff.
