About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ormston School in Leeds. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils, working closely with the classroom teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons, adapting resources to meet the needs of pupils
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity

Requirements:

  • Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a secondary setting
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Ability to adapt resources and lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn
