Key Responsibilities- Prepare and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Generate and review financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual and budgeted figures.
- Reconcile key accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual statutory accounts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, including the preparation of financial models.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and ensure best practices are followed.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified, QBE also considered.
- Proven experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software's and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
