Job Title: Academic Board Member

Woodrow Mercer Healthcare Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Board Member to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our organisation and ensuring that we remain at the forefront of eating disorder charity work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to enhance the reputation of First Steps ED as a leading eating disorder charity.
  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated professionals to deliver high-quality services and achieve our organisational goals.
  • Represent First Steps ED externally, building relationships with key stakeholders, including the NHS, voluntary sector, research, and private sector.
  • Ensure the continued development and sustainability of First Steps ED as a high-performing charitable organisation.
  • Drive new business development, identifying opportunities for partnerships and contract growth.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of senior leadership experience, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to design, develop, and execute strategy.
  • Ability to lead in a complex environment, with a strong focus on achieving excellence and challenging poor performance.
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare, local government, and voluntary sector, with evidence of continuous professional development.
