Job Summary:

Turner Lovell is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in the design and development of cutting-edge power conversion systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for specifying and designing power electronics converters to meet specific requirements, handling circuit design aspects, and developing analysis and modeling tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop power electronics converters to meet specific application requirements.
  • Handle all circuit design aspects, including snubber, gating electronics, and thermal design.
  • Develop analysis and modeling tools for megawatt power electronic converter systems.
  • Test, evaluate, and optimize low and medium voltage power electronic systems.
  • Support project execution, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tendering, testing, and commissioning teams.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Masters/PhD preferred).
  • Expertise in power electronics converter design and electrical machines control methods.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor devices, gating electronics, snubber circuits, and thermal design.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as EPLAN, Mathcad, MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, etc.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance in the UK.
