Key Responsibilities:- To carry out site repairs and modifications on both mechanical and electrical equipment.
- To undertake mechanical tasks, including:
- Mechanical fault finding on pumps, gearboxes, lathes, grinding machines, and boring machines.
- Machine strip-downs and rebuilds.
- Planned and preventive maintenance.
- Mechanical installation, including pipe fitting and machine moves.
- To undertake electrical tasks, including:
- Electrical fault finding on both single and three-phase systems.
- Electrical installation work, including panel building.
- Planned and preventive maintenance.
- PAT testing.
- Programming temperature PID controllers.
- To create risk assessments and method statements prior to commencing work activities.
- To accurately record and document maintenance activities using the maintenance system.
- To escalate any faults, including estimated time of recovery, and provide regular progress updates to the facilities manager.
- To perform out-of-hours working to support critical maintenance, breakdowns, and project work as required.
- To participate in the creation of standard working documents, local instructions, etc.
- To work with sub-contractors to assist with maintenance, repairs, and modifications to plant and equipment.
- To assist with the control, ordering, and replenishment of spare parts and components.
Requirements:
- Proven relevant experience working within a maintenance or repairs engineer role.
- A strong knowledge of electrical systems (both single and three-phase).
- Mechanical experience of maintaining plant equipment.
- Experience undertaking general fabrication work (mechanical and electrical).
- Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical technical drawings.
- Proven ability to fault-find on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office, MS Project).
