Job Title: Transport and Installation Lead Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Transport and Installation Lead Engineer to join our team in Middlesbrough. As a Transport and Installation Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the transport and installation of wind turbines and their foundations for offshore wind projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement installation procedures for offshore wind projects, including vessel selection, positioning plans, and equipment selection.
  • Design and develop concept and detailed lifting arrangements, deck layouts, and sea-fastenings.
  • Review and organize review of internal and external deliverables, including structural designs, drawings, and reports.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned deliverables against the tender/project schedule, within budget and to the required quality level.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering subcontractor scope of works.
  • Provide engineering, technical preparation, and execution support for offshore wind projects.
  • Assist projects in dealing with unexpected circumstances during execution.
  • Understand and advise on how to manage project risks and its implications on programme, budget, and quality.
  • Feed lessons learned back into the Foundation Unit knowledge centre and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Civil, Mechanical, or Offshore Engineering degree, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, practical, and pragmatic skills to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in installation engineering, including deck layout, lift and rigging plans, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to perform and review rigging design and crane lifting studies.
  • Ability to perform and review seafastening/grillage designs of all components during the transportation phase.
  • Ability to offer technical support and advice during the project execution phase.
  • Knowledge of 3D/FEA software, including Inventor and Ansys.
  • Supervisory and coaching skills to develop junior installation engineers.
