Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer – Building Services

The dedicated Critical Systems team at 1-Stop Design Shop, Inc. plays a pivotal role in enhancing the energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational cost-effectiveness of buildings.

This team specializes exclusively in the data centre sector, staying updated on current best practices while exploring innovative technologies that influence future developments.

As a frontrunner in this industry, we were among the first consultancies to design air-optimized data centres, leading the way in cooling strategies that have achieved the first-ever BREEAM 'Outstanding' rating for a data centre and significantly aided others in reaching LEED 'Gold' or even targeting 'Platinum' status.

This presents an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer to join the Critical Systems team and contribute to the successful execution of innovative mechanical design solutions for some of the most prominent and high-profile projects in the Data Centre and Critical Systems domains.

As part of a well-established team of expert engineers, and collaborating closely with colleagues from various disciplines, you will be responsible for preparing both schematic and detailed engineering designs for major data centre and other critical systems projects.

To qualify, you should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng) and have relevant experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within a building services context. Experience in detailed coordination with other design disciplines is essential, along with proficiency in relevant design software, including CAD and Revit packages.

You should demonstrate a proven ability to produce low-energy, innovative design solutions, prepare specifications and project reports, conduct site inspections and surveys, and develop detailed designs. Importantly, you should have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

While experience in critical systems is preferred, candidates with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
