We are in search of a motivated and self-assured CAMHS Practitioner who has a proven history of working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions and driving service enhancements.

This position is ideal for a qualified Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with the necessary professional credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized assessments for children and young people with mental health issues, utilizing professional training and clinical expertise.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for emotional and behavioral challenges, grounded in evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
  • Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of therapeutic programs, involving family members when appropriate.
  • Make informed decisions regarding treatment options, considering both theoretical frameworks and the unique circumstances of each client.
  • Exercise professional autonomy in the assessment, treatment, and discharge processes for clients under standard care protocols.
  • Manage clinical risks associated with child and adolescent clients as an ongoing responsibility.
  • Provide expert mental health guidance and consultation to other professionals involved in client care.
  • Communicate complex information regarding assessments and treatment plans in a sensitive and effective manner.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues across various sectors, including external organizations.

Teaching, Training, and Supervision:

  • Engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Offer consultation, training, and clinical supervision to team members in alignment with local quality improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously assess and enhance personal skills and training needs through structured supervision and development planning.

Research and Service Evaluation:

  • Participate in the evaluation and enhancement of operational policies and care pathways through research and service audits.
  • Utilize evidence-based literature to support best practices in individual and collaborative work.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping and data management in accordance with professional codes and Trust policies.
  • Stay informed about relevant legislation and policies affecting mental health services.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of professional standards through participation in training and development programs.
