Position Summary We are seeking a Logistics Planning Specialist to oversee the transport operations at Wincanton.
As a Logistics Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the daily scheduling of store deliveries and Backhaul collections. This includes ensuring effective communication of the logistics plan to all relevant parties, maintaining accurate records in the system, and monitoring performance metrics to enhance efficiency. Comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate. This role operates on a 37.5 hour contract across 5 days from 7, with shifts typically commencing between 4am and 6am, including alternate weekends. The salary for this position is £27,000.
Key Responsibilities Oversee all logistics volume through the Plan-It system, ensuring proper integration into the routing software and effective communication with the business. Manage resource allocation requests to guarantee accuracy in daily planning. Uphold Health & Safety standards on-site, fostering a culture of safety awareness and reporting. Promote STAR reporting to minimize accidents and incidents. Ensure all reports and details are precise for the intended audience. Maintain financial awareness to maximize profitability through efficient planning. Cultivate customer relationships, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of issues. Collaborate with the Customers team to enhance operational efficiency. Make informed decisions with a comprehensive understanding of P&L implications, ensuring the team is aware of financial performance. Required Skills and Qualifications Proven track record in delivering operational and service performance aligned with Health and Safety standards and KPIs. Strong planning and prioritization abilities. Capacity to identify and report operational issues. Proficiency in driving P&L performance through statistical analysis and quick reactions. Previous experience or knowledge of Transport Management systems is advantageous. Operationally focused with a commitment to exceeding expectations. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
