We are excited to announce openings for three Logistics Office Coordinators at Wincanton. Reporting directly to the Transport Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in briefing and debriefing drivers and transport support staff, ensuring adherence to company protocols. Your efforts will contribute to the efficient delivery of services, helping to meet operational objectives on a weekly and monthly basis through effective scheduling and communication with our clients.

Shift Details:
Alternating weekly shifts consisting of day and night rotations from 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am.

Compensation:
£25,834 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a 4 on 4 off weekly rotation of day and night shifts.
  • Input daily run sheets into spreadsheets and web-based systems.
  • Organize and maintain transport-related documentation.
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to transport operations.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports as needed.
  • Brief drivers at the beginning of each shift, providing necessary information on performance and company updates.
  • Assist with fleet recovery and maintenance planning.
  • Report all vehicle defects, including accidents, and coordinate with external recovery services.
  • Communicate effectively with stores and suppliers, addressing any complaints or issues.
  • Monitor vehicle and trip progress, adjusting delivery and collection plans as necessary.
  • Ensure the completion of the Day 1 report and daily operations report for shift handover.
  • Ensure all reports are finalized and distributed before the end of the shift.
  • Maintain compliance with the Road Traffic Act.
  • Ensure drivers adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety conversations and inspections as directed.
  • Escalate incidents and accidents appropriately.

Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience in an office setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in transport operations is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong team player capable of working independently.
  • Eager to grow and develop within the department and the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
