About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Primary Care Liaison. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Primary Care Network in the North West of Hertfordshire, providing specialist consultative liaison to Primary Care based staff for advice and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist consultative liaison to Primary Care based staff for advice and guidance.
  • Offer one-off mental health diagnostic assessments and/or medication management to service users as needed.
  • Provide psychiatric consultation slots for GPs and primary care mental health practitioners for clinical discussion.
  • Work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services.
  • Comply with the Trust's agreed policies, procedures, standing orders, and financial instructions.
Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
