Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all recruitment processes, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding of candidates.
  • Maintain employee records, track sickness, holiday, and absence, and conduct pre-employment checks using Worknest and Staffvetting.
  • Manage investigations and complex employee relations issues.
  • Support the Directors in the disciplinary process, ensuring best practice is followed by Managers.
  • Report monthly salary variations to the Finance Director.
  • Monitor probation/induction timelines and staff sickness in line with the Bradford factor policy.
  • Work closely with Management to identify and plan staff deployment and strategically plan for future gaps in recruitment.
  • Provide HR guidance and support to Management.
  • Nurture workforce and staff engagement.
  • Plan and implement team building and staff engagement days.
  • Set and review pay structures, employee perks, and benefits.
  • Ensure HR policies are up-to-date.
  • Provide confidential support and guidance in HR-related matters.
  • Line manage the HR & Health & Safety Co-ordinator.
  • Launch a new HR software package and provide tools and frameworks to support employees and managers.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in an operational HR role.
  • CIPD qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Positive, empathetic, and approachable manner.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic approach to work.
  • Excellent user of Microsoft and Excel applications.
