Job Title: ESOL & Volunteer Coordinator

Union Chapel UK is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESOL & Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our social justice program, you will be responsible for delivering ESOL classes, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and coordinating community outreach activities.

About the Role:

  • Deliver ESOL classes to asylum seekers in Islington contingency hotels
  • Recruit and manage a team of volunteers to provide learning opportunities and befriending services
  • Coordinate community outreach activities, including orientation workshops, health and wellbeing programs, and information sessions on the asylum process
  • Work closely with our Social Justice Worker and attend weekly drop-ins to ensure effective delivery of the program
  • Report any safeguarding issues in a timely manner

About You:

  • Experience of providing ESOL classes and working with asylum seekers
  • Understanding of approaches to language learning and the situation of asylum seekers in the UK
  • Experience of volunteering, recruiting, and supporting volunteers
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding concerns for vulnerable adults
