Your Role as an HCA:

As a Mental Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and person-centered care to individuals within secure mental health units. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement
  • Monitoring patients' well-being and reporting any concerns to the nursing staff
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals

Essential Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working in mental health care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach
  • Flexibility and reliability
  • PMVA training or willingness to obtain it
