Job Title: AWS Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Manchester Digital. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain highly available and secure systems on AWS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues
  • Develop and implement infrastructure as code to ensure consistency and repeatability
  • Monitor and instrument systems to enable quick identification and response to operational issues
Requirements:
  • Experience with Linux operating system internals and virtual machines or containers
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes
  • Understanding of SRE principles, including capacity planning, SLOs, and SLIs

Please note that this role requires SC clearance, which would normally need 5 years' UK residency in the past 5 years. This is not an absolute requirement, but supplementary checks may be needed where individuals have not lived in the UK for that period.

We use Success Profiles to evaluate your skills and ability. This gives us the best possible chance of finding the right person for the job, increases performance and improves diversity and inclusivity.

Candidates that do not pass the interview but have demonstrated an acceptable standard may be considered for similar roles at a lower grade.

A reserve list will be held for a period of 12 months, from which further appointments can be made.
