About First Bus Engineering

We're one of the country's largest bus operators, and our engineering teams are at the forefront of bus technology. We're investing in state-of-the-art new buses and workshops, and we're looking for a skilled Auto/Vehicle Electrician to join our team in Weston-Super-Mare.

About the Role

  • Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
  • Carry out vehicle servicing.
  • Be fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems, and E.C.U.
  • Be fully familiar with all relevant diagnostic equipment, including multi-meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, vernier gauges, and E.C.U. diagnostic computer equipment.

Requirements

  • You must possess a minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification.
  • You must be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems.
  • You must be willing to obtain a forklift truck and PCV license if fully assisted by First Bus.
  • You must have a valid UK driver's license.
