Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at First Bus. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems, and E.U. diagnostic computer equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on bus electrical systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using E.U. diagnostic computer equipment
  • Overhaul and repair vehicle electrical systems, including engine management and automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes
  • Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably in a bus or heavy vehicle environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including engine management and automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
