About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team at Randstad Care. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people in Angus and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with young people, creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for them to express themselves.
  • Offer emotional support and counseling to help young people navigate challenges and overcome personal obstacles.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans, tailored to meet each young person's unique needs and goals.
  • Encourage educational attainment and provide educational support where necessary.
  • Facilitate workshops, group activities, and life skills sessions to promote personal development, social skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to the young person's care.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on the young person's development.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a care setting with young people.
  • Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of cognitive behavioral approaches, attachment theory, and child protection policy.
  • Experience advocating on behalf of a young person.
  • Register under the PVG scheme.
  • Full driving license.
  • Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
