We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Residential Childcare Worker. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and stimulating environment for young people to thrive and reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for supporting the social, emotional, and educational needs of children and young people. You will work effectively as part of a team to create a safe and nurturing environment, and will be required to de-escalate challenging behavior and coordinate with teachers, social workers, and other care professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the social, emotional, and educational needs of children and young people
  • Work effectively as part of a team to create a safe and nurturing environment
  • De-escalate challenging behavior and coordinate with teachers, social workers, and other care professionals
  • Maintain a professional manner and work to National Care Standards
  • Work to a flexible schedule, including night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a care setting with young people
  • Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
  • Flexibility in the roles undertaken
  • Strong communication skills
  • Registration under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving license
  • Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
