About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at Stewart House, a 30-bedded rehabilitation service for individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will provide clinical, managerial, and educational leadership to a team of registered and unregistered nursing staff, taking an active lead in the development of ward initiatives to improve the provision of care.

In the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, the post holder will take responsibility for the management of the ward, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the ward and maintaining the wards' systems and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to a team of registered and unregistered nursing staff
  • Develop and implement ward initiatives to improve the provision of care
  • Take responsibility for the management of the ward in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the ward and maintain the wards' systems and standards

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Registered Nurse qualification
  • Experience in a leadership or management role
  • Strong clinical and managerial skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
