About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated midwife to join our team as a Developmental Labour Ward Co-ordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist midwifery expertise to ensure high-quality care for patients
  • Develop and implement programmes of care to meet the holistic needs of patients
  • Coordinate midwifery care for patients assigned to the area
  • Ensure the safety of patients by delegating care to midwives with appropriate skills
  • Participate in research-based practice and ensure implementation of evidence-based guidelines
  • Facilitate teaching and learning for junior midwives and students
  • Develop and maintain professional knowledge and competence
  • Participate in the selection and induction of new staff members
  • Contribute to the development of the role of midwifery within the area
Requirements
  • Mentorship of student midwives
  • Recent labour ward experience
  • Ability to exercise professional accountability and responsibility
  • Ability to work flexibly and cover all shift patterns
  • Ability to work throughout the Maternity service
