As a key member of our Medicinal Chemistry department, you will be responsible for designing and synthesizing novel Bicycles and conjugates to deliver clinical candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Drive chemistry activities within project teams, including the design of bioactive Bicycle peptides to a set Target Product Profile.
- Serve on internal project teams, communicate with project team members and colleagues effectively, and work well with others to meet experimental and organizational goals.
- Present research results effectively in oral or written form to line managers, project team members, and management-level meetings.
- Manage chemistry at external contract research organizations (CROs), including maintaining relationships, developing chemistry plans, project tracking, data and compound management, critical evaluation of results, and analytical data analysis.
- Prepare reports and contribute to drafting and reviewing patent filings.
- Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
- Introduce and develop new innovations that expand the company's platform.
- Relevant industry or academic experience in contemporary medicinal/peptide chemistry and in the design and synthesis of bioactive peptides and conjugates in preclinical drug discovery programs.
- Experience in structure-based drug design and the use of computational modeling and data analysis software to interpret SAR data (activity, selectivity, DMPK characteristics, physical properties, etc.).
- Experience in developing drug conjugates or radiopharmaceuticals is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in managing external (CRO, CMO) resources to accomplish project tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently, flexibly, and reliably, prioritizing accordingly to the company's objectives.
- Experience in a project leadership role is highly desirable.
- Team player who collaborates and communicates effectively in a team environment, comfortable sharing knowledge with the wider company team and, as appropriate, reporting work to the scientific or industry community.
