Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Support Technician to join our esteemed pharmacy team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate assembly and distribution of medications for both in-patients and out-patients, while adhering to established operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Compiling and dispensing medications, ensuring all tasks are verified for accuracy.
  • Engaging in the management of medications within the ward, including the assessment of patients' own medications and coordinating necessary supplies.
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Logistics Service to maintain safe and efficient purchasing and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Operating within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhering to professional best practice guidelines.
  • Collaborating effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently, utilizing initiative to address routine inquiries regarding medication availability and supply.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong communication and organizational abilities to ensure the delivery of a safe and efficient pharmacy service.
  • A commitment to professional development, with a willingness to pursue an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • The ability to communicate in Welsh is advantageous, although proficiency in English is also acceptable.
