About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Caretaker to join our team at Sanctuary Group. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our student accommodation sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake routine maintenance and repairs to student accommodation, including completing tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
- Ensure statutory compliance is maintained, including carrying out fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks, and water hygiene checks.
- Record keeping and reporting of maintenance activities and issues.
- Maintain stock levels of materials and equipment to ensure cost-effectiveness and availability.
- Assist the management team with flat inspections and audits to ensure safe and secure environments.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to residents and escalate any service delivery issues to the line manager.
- Act as the first point of contact for residents, responding positively to complaints and service breakdowns.
Requirements
- Experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably in a residential setting.
- Practical skills in identifying and carrying out basic repairs.
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills to provide great customer service.
- Ability to assess priorities and plan work effectively to meet deadlines.
- Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, interpreting written and verbal instructions and maintaining written records.
