Weighbridge Assistant Job Description

Reed is currently seeking a Weighbridge Assistant to join their team onsite in Harlow. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the weighbridge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safeguarding Revenue and Stocks: Ensure all trucks entering and exiting the plant are weighed accurately and report any discrepancies to your supervisor promptly.
  • Weighbridge Operations: Position trucks correctly on the weighbridge for incoming and outgoing vehicles, verifying loading and delivery documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Document Management: Issue loading documents and maintain confidentiality of all documents and information.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare reports and maintain accurate records, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Ensure the weighbridge area is clean and well-maintained, including the gaps between the weighing platform and foundation.
Requirements:
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management and Organisation: Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Initiative and Drive: Proactive and driven, with a strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in transport or a related field is highly desirable.
