About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our nuclear and clean energy team, you will play a critical role in delivering projects that contribute to the UK's net zero target by 2050.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and substantiate mechanical equipment and systems for nuclear and clean energy projects.
  • Lead technical teams to deliver complex projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, leveraging expertise in mechanical engineering and design.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified mechanical engineer (or equivalent) with a strong background in mechanical analysis or design.
  • Proven experience in design and substantiation of mechanical equipment and systems, including mechanical handling systems, remotely operated equipment, and structural integrity assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong technical leadership and project management skills, with experience in leading technical teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional institute (or approaching application for registration).
