About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our nuclear and clean energy team, you will play a critical role in delivering projects that contribute to the UK's net zero target.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and substantiate mechanical equipment and systems for nuclear and clean energy projects
- Lead technical teams to deliver complex projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, leveraging expertise in mechanical engineering and design
- Work closely with colleagues to drive project delivery, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
Requirements
- Degree-qualified mechanical engineer (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering design and substantiation, with a focus on nuclear and clean energy projects
- Strong technical leadership and project management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and ability to work within budget and time constraints
Desirable Skills
- Experience with design codes such as BS EN13001, BS 2573, or ASME B30
- Knowledge of finite element analysis and piping and pressure vessel design
- Ability to work in a safety-critical and heavily regulated environment
- Chartered status with a relevant professional institute (or approaching application for registration)
