We are inviting applications for a Trust Grade Doctor (ST1-2 level) position at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN). This role provides a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience across various neurological subspecialties, including stroke management, epilepsy care, and movement disorder treatment.

Although this position is not recognized for formal training, successful candidates will have access to the same educational sessions as Core Medical Trainees (CMTs).

Clinical Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for the management of inpatients suffering from a range of neurological disorders, including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. Your duties will encompass patient evaluations, diagnostic assessments, formulation of treatment strategies, and ongoing monitoring of patient progress throughout their hospital stay.

Ward and Daycare Duties:
You will rotate between the inpatient ward and the daycare unit, ensuring comprehensive care for patients with neurological conditions. This includes conducting ward rounds, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining a high standard of patient care.

On-Call Duties:
The role requires participation in on-call shifts, including overnight responsibilities at NHNN, where you will oversee neurology inpatients in the absence of a registrar, necessitating strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.

Educational Engagement:
You will actively participate in daily educational activities, such as grand rounds, case discussions, and tutorials led by experienced consultants. These sessions are designed to enhance your clinical competencies, particularly in preparation for MRCP PACES, with dedicated sessions allocated for this purpose.

Collaboration and Mentorship:
Close collaboration with consultants, fellow medical practitioners, nursing staff, and allied health professionals is essential. You will have a designated educational supervisor to guide your professional development, and you will document your progress in an electronic portfolio.
