We are partnering with a reputable client to recruit a Hotel General Manager for a well-established venue on the North Yorkshire coast. This independently owned hotel offers a unique blend of guest rooms, apartments, and a superb food and beverage offering, alongside hosting events.

The successful candidate will benefit from a competitive salary of up to £50,000, a bonus package, and the autonomy to oversee all hotel operations. This is a full-time, permanent role. The ideal candidate should be a hands-on leader who can manage, lead, and operate the hotel, act as a brand ambassador, and drive sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the delivery of Reception, Front of House, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage areas of the hotel
  2. Maintain high service standards across all departments
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation
  4. Manage and lead the team, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention
  5. Oversee financial operations such as budgets, payroll, targets, and forecasting
  6. Develop and execute a sales and marketing strategy
  7. Address and manage any maintenance issues as needed
  8. Lead regular team meetings and encourage open communication
Requirements:
  1. Proven hotel management experience in a similar-sized property
  2. Knowledge of online room booking systems
  3. Experience in sales for both Food and Beverage and rooms
  4. Strong financial reconciliation and reporting skills
  5. A personable, professional, and natural leader
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
