We are currently in search of a Senior Client Accountant. This position is chiefly accountable for managing the financial dimensions of our clients' tours within the agency. The responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to, verifying the precision of all settlement particulars (compensation, withholding tax, deductions) and serving as the intermediary between our agents, clients, and clients' business managers to ensure all tours are reconciled promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review settlement particulars of all performances/tours and confirm that the artist received full compensation for the engagement – whether through funds allocated to the agency, funds directed to the artist, or a combination of both, and process any relevant refunds due to cancellations.
- Authenticate and document applicable deductions and/or withholding tax that occurred at the source.
- Evaluate and compute Wasserman Music's obligation to withhold non-resident withholding tax.
- Verify and process any chargebacks for expenses where applicable.
- Prepare and manage tour statements from inception to completion – dispatch initial drafts for approval and follow up on subsequent reviews/adjustments from the artist's management team. Resolve any discrepancies to ensure alignment between Wasserman Music and clients' records. Submit statements to clients and collect funds owed to Wasserman Music.
- Conduct financial analyses for all artist advances and/or loan requests and oversee the distribution and repayment of approved advances/loans.
- Provide oversight and support for junior staff members.
- Assist in identifying and categorizing funds as necessary.
- Uphold the highest level of financial confidentiality for artists.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in live events/touring is advantageous.
- A degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience is required.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral, interpersonal, and written).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and anticipate potential issues proactively, determining appropriate next steps swiftly.
- Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
- Must be capable of performing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
