London, Greater London, United Kingdom ARM Full time

About The Team:

Become part of a vibrant FPGA Prototyping verification group, integral to Arm's Solutions Engineering division. Our team comprises dedicated engineers who deliver a robust platform for software development and testing on Arm's advanced subsystems and System-on-Chips (SoCs). Our goal is to expedite the development cycle by providing a flexible and high-performance prototyping environment that facilitates seamless software integration and validation across various market segments, including mobile, server, IoT, and automotive.

Job Overview

In this role, your daily responsibilities will primarily involve crafting software drivers for the verification and validation of SoC RTL designs tailored for FPGA implementation. You will engage in developing and maintaining software build infrastructure, writing test cases in C, creating automated testing systems, and developing bare metal drivers for diverse peripherals such as PCIe, CXL, and others.

If you seek a position that merges hardware and software expertise in a setting where your contributions can make a significant impact, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Collaborate with a dedicated team that innovates FPGA solutions and works closely to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement reference software for Arm processors and systems.
  • Develop, optimize, and deliver software to support the verification and validation of Arm's pioneering IPs and SoCs within our FPGA prototyping platforms.
  • Collaborate with FPGA verification engineers to ensure the accurate functionality of RTL implementations.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong proficiency in C programming and some familiarity with assembly language.
  • Experience in low-level embedded system development and debugging.
  • Understanding of concepts such as bootloaders and device drivers.
  • Proficient with build systems like Make, Cmake, and Meson.
  • Ability to script in languages such as Python and Shell.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Basic knowledge of RTL design and simulation/verification; familiarity with HDLs like Verilog is advantageous.
  • Experience with version control and project management/bug tracking tools such as Git and Jira.
  • Familiarity with IDEs and compilation technologies, e.g., Eclipse and Keil MDK.
  • Knowledge of common hardware interfaces, including PCIe, CXL, UARTs, SPI, and I2C.
In Return:

You will enhance your expertise, face challenges, and work with cutting-edge technologies. Collaborate with various engineering teams, including software, FPGA implementation, and verification. Engage in in-depth technical discussions with top-tier multifunctional engineering teams. Your experience and skills will foster collaboration with external partners and contractors, building valuable relationships.
