About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Learning Tutor to join our team at Wigan Council. As an Adult Learning Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities to residents who have low or limited skills in areas of high disadvantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver regulated and non-regulated teaching and learning activities to residents from Entry level to level 2.
  • Work with a team of tutors, colleagues, and the Adult Learning and Skills Curriculum Manager to ensure learning opportunities meet the needs of learners and provide a coherent offer that drives progression to higher level learning or work.
  • Develop a curriculum relevant to the needs of learners, who are often hard to reach and low level.
  • Plan and deliver accredited learning that supports the curriculum, including schemes of work, session planning, and reviewing of Individual Learning Plans.
  • Recognise the importance of achievement and progress of all learners.
