We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CAMHS Practitioner to join our team at Livewell Southwest. As a key member of our Early Help and Intervention team, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing of children and young people in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment and intervention services to children and young people with emerging mental health difficulties, working closely with schools, community services, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective support.
- Develop and implement evidence-based targeted interventions, including group-based needs-led groups and parenting programmes, to promote resilience and prevention of mental health issues.
- Act as a named Early Help liaison practitioner, working closely with the Children's Gateway to screen potential referrals and provide consultation and advice to referrers, networks, and families.
- Co-ordinate and contribute to early help assessment clinics, ensuring children and young people access timely assessments and appropriate targeted interventions.
- Represent CAMHS in multi-agency meetings, such as EHAT, SEND, and child protection meetings, to co-ordinate and have oversight of the mental health element of multi-agency plans.
- Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives, including clinical audit, essence of care, and clinical policy development.
- Ensure children and young people are encouraged to play a part in decision-making about the help they need and how they can access specific interventions to promote person-centred planning.
- Confidence to travel in an urban environment and competent keyboard and IT skills.
- Ability to match children and young people's needs with available skills and resources, and to liaise with other services to arrange appointments that meet the needs of the child or young person and service demands.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to cope with stress generated from constant changing priorities within the team and make clinical decisions to meet the needs of children and young people in the school/community setting.
- Familiarisation with and adherence to national and local safeguarding adults and children policies, and participation in related mandatory/statutory training.
