Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Individual Education Plans: Assist the teacher in developing and implementing individual education plans for students with SEN, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Support Student Learning: Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, helping them to overcome learning challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Classroom Management: Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with teachers, other support staff, and professionals to support student progress and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths, with relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Skills and Experience: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team, and patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with SEN.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Training in Manual Handling and Safeguarding
  • First Aid Certification
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time Position: Working hours may vary, with opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Classroom-based Environment: Support students in a dynamic and inclusive classroom setting.
